Mobicip parental controls setup - Mac
This article describes how to set up Mobicip's parental controls on your Mac computers.
Before you begin, please ensure
- You are logged into the Mac computer as an administrator. We recommend you create separate standard Mac user accounts for each of your children.
- Your Mac computer has macOS 10.15 and above. Mobicip does not support older versions.
- You sign up for a Mobicip account from the parent app on your device or the Mobicip website
- You disable Mac parental control / Mac Screen time or any anti-virus software as this may disable Mobicip.
Begin Setup - Login as administrator on the Mac.
Download Mobicip for Mac using the link below. Mobicip for Mac is not available on the app store and you need to install it from here.
Open the installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Accept any warning messages. Read and agree to the terms of the software license agreement.
Provide your administrator username and password to continue the installation.
Once the installation is successful, close the installer, click on the Mobicip icon on the menu bar, and log in to your Mobicip account.
Review and accept the Data Disclosure Agreement.
Please make sure that macOS parental control is not enabled on any of your Mac user accounts.
On the next page, select your child’s mac user account for which you wish to set up Mobicip parental controls. Connect the Mobicip child user to the Mac user account.
You can add a Mobicip child account if you have not created one already.
Repeat this process for all the children accounts on the computer.
Once done, click on 'Complete Setup' and let the setup finish.
Congratulations! Your Mac is now set up with Mobicip. Hand over the Mac to your child!
